Im alergic to metal belt buckles?

Every belt i buy it makes my stomach break out and itch and i cant seem to find any belts with plastic buckles or with metal ones that wont make me break out. i dont know what metal it is made from so i dont know what i am alergic to. anyone know ne thing that can help?

Im alergic to metal belt buckles?
I trick that we used to use with metal watches was to coat the back with nail polish.

I don%26#039;t know if this would work with belt buckles.
Reply:most are made of nickel or metal

im allergic to things like this also

not much you can do except dont let it touch your skin

can you glue or tape cloth on the back side so it wont touch your skin?
Reply:Suspenders
Reply:I am allergic to the nickle content of most metals. It makes me break out too. I can wear pure silver, which is very soft metal without the nickle, but very few other metals.

Make sure the buckles or other metals do not ever touch your bare skin!! Yes, I know the fashion is to have a bare space between the top of the belt and the bottom of the shirt, but is a very bad plan for some of us.

Watch other jewelery for this problem also. I put a ribbon on my watch instead of allowing the metal to touch my skin. Only silver earwires for my earrings, and silver necklaces, bracelets and anklets. My wedding rings are silver plated and have to be renewed annually.
Reply:Either buy a canvas belt with a stainless steel buckle at an Army/Navy store or buy a belt at a major airport where they sell plastic buckle belts.
Reply:I%26#039;m allergic to EVERYTHING even gold and surgical steel which I%26#039;m told is quite rare to be allergic to.

I have to get shots at the doc to control the allergies.

Is is the nickle.

Why are you wearing the buckles against your skin, btw?

Glue some fabric to the backing.
Reply:i%26#039;m allergic to nickel as well i went to the dermatologist and she gave me some really good stuff that worked but i ran out and it%26#039;s back again i started wearing my belts a different way and buying dfferent jeans although a few pairs of my jeans still have metal buttons i am also allergic to any fake jewlery i understand your problem it keeps me from wearng bikinis during the summer and it always itches which sucks
Reply:im no expert on belt buckels but i do know a thing or two about the elements first i would try a magnet test if you feel a pull its eather iron ,colbalt ,or nick most likely iron and if not its most likely steel or copper but either way it would probably be easiest to just get pants that dont require a belt.
